Patrick D. AngelPatrick Angel, Portland Personal Injury Attorney

Portland Personal Injury Attorney

Patrick Angel is committed to upholding what is right and seeking justice for those who cannot do it for themselves. That is why after he graduated from high school in his hometown of Bossier City, Louisiana, he enlisted in the Marine Corps. Quickly rising through the enlisted ranks at Camp Pendleton in California, he was a respected Sergeant when the Gulf War broke out in August of 1990.

His dedication and determination steeled him for the hardships ahead when his infantry battalian arrived in the Persian Gulf and his unit became part of the Marine Corps’ prestigious Task Force Ripper, serving as the vanguard for offensive combat operations of the First Marine Division.

Combat Ribbon

Six years later, after being honorably discharged from the military, Patrick knew there was more to accomplish. He was accepted to the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in English. Having decided on a legal career he then attended Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon, where he revealed his instincts and talents for courtroom excellence by winning the honor of Best Oral Advocate during the first year Moot Court Competition.

Patrick was one of just a few law students certified to try criminal cases for the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office. By 2001, he had tried numerous criminal cases to jury verdicts, earning several impressive wins.

When his time spent interning at the District Attorney’s office as a law student had come to an end, Patrick listened to his initial calling and decided to turn his focus exclusively to civil injury litigation representing those who had been injured, exploited or killed by others. Each year, Angel Law only accepts a small number of cases, treating each one with the importance each client deserves. It is on these respectable merits and personal commitment that he founded the injury litigation firm Angel Law, P.C.

Over the course of his career, Patrick’s dedication to his clients and his unflagging pursuit of excellence in practice have earned him numerous accolades, such as membership in The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers, the “Superb” score on Avvo, and the prestigious Super Lawyers rating, available to no more than 2.5% of attorneys in the state. Patrick was recently inducted into the Nation’s Top One Percent group of the NDAC and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocate’s Forum.

Attorney Patrick Angel has never strayed from his beliefs and continues to follow what he believes to be the absolute best set of practices for the people who require his representation. In recent years, he has fought for the rights of his clients in personal injury cases both numerous and complex, from asbestos exposure lawsuits and wrongful death cases to car accident cases and premises liability cases. Logging hundreds of hours in depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials, Patrick’s own experience with all aspects of a client’s case – from initial preparations to the courtroom proceedings – cannot be contested.

Patrick is an active member of the Oregon State Bar and formerly served on the Executive Committee of the Products Liability Section, Attorney Angel remains committed to protecting the innocent by alerting consumers about dangerous or recalled products. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Multnomah County Bar Association, where he currently serves on the Multnomah County Court Liaison Committee, and the American Association for Justice.

He has been an active member of the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association (OTLA) for fifteen years. He is admitted to practice in the State Courts of Oregon, including the Oregon Court of Appeals and the (Federal) U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, and has appeared in several of them.

From Medford to Portland to Bend, The Dalles and even La Grande, Patrick has fought for the exploited and injured all over Oregon State. If someone needs an Angel on their side, you can bet he will be there and offering the utmost in client services and bringing impressive legal talents with him.

When he’s not fighting for clients, Patrick enjoys backpacking and camping, reading, cheering for the Cal Bears, eating traditional Louisiana cuisine, and growing heirloom tomatoes – no easy task in the Northwest! More than anything, though, he enjoys spending quality time with his wife Amy and his eleven year old daughter.

"True, we build no bridges. We raise no towers. We construct no engines. We paint no pictures - unless as amateurs for our own amusement. There is little of all that we do which the eye of man can see. But we smooth out difficulties; we relieve stress; we correct mistakes; we take up other men's burdens and by our efforts we make possible the peaceful life of men in a peaceful state." - John W. Davis, Address at 75th Anniversary Proceedings of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York (March 16, 1946).
